
Students from AISSMS elect YIN representative
Pune: Over 300 students of All India Shree Shivaji Memorial Society’s (AISSMS) College of Pharmacy and Institute of Information Technology (IOT) on Friday took part in the election process to elect their representative in the Sakal’s Young Inspirators Network (YIN).
Of the four candidates in fray from the College of Pharmacy, the students will elect one of them. The results will be declared on September 4.
Speaking to Sakal Times, one of the candidates and a final year student of College of Pharmacy, Indrajeet Mohite, said that YIN is a platform for like-minded students.
“In this platform, we get an opportunity to interact with experts and policy makers. Earlier, I had stage fear but that fear is now a thing of the past as I took part in YIN events. Now I lead my friends in different activities. I enjoy taking initiatives and serving people. My agenda will be emphasising on no plastic zones and focusing on water conservation. I believe that change is possible only if we all work for it together,” said Mohite.
Shraddha Shukla, Akshay Kale, Rohit Kharade were the other three candidates from the AISSMS College of Pharmacy.
Shubham Lahoti, one of the student voters from the college said that the experiencing of voting was good.
“It feels good to participate and choose our candidate to represent us. There are lots of issues that we youngsters need to voice through this platform. Our vote is put to good use,” said Lahoti.
