Young Inspirators Network (YIN) is turning one today. Thousands of youth got connected to this movement in the last one year. These youth, full of energy, brought positive changes in society through their projects. The year-long activities and its outcome have proved that the youth are inclined to do something for society. The YIN members now plan to scale up their activities. In the coming year, the network will be strengthened with YIN members in every college. YIN aims to bring positive change in the youth so that they engage in constructive work for social change.
India is a young country and efforts are needed to channelise this positive energy for nation building. YIN is an effort towards achieving this goal. The youth have new and innovative ideas but at many times, these ideas have no place in the conventional education system. YIN aims to give the youth the opportunity to put their ideas into action.
YIN has aimed to increase the influence of youth in politics, society and economy, while imbibing the sense of social responsibility in them.
The enthusiasm of the youth and their zeal to bring about change in the last one year, has prompted us to scale up the movement. Each youth of the State must become a part of this movement. We have started work with an aim to include maximum number of youth from across colleges in Maharashtra into YIN.
The youth have shown that by working together in an enthusiastic environment, the problems faced by society can be solved. With the increasing number of youngsters joining YIN, we understand that students need more than what the education system already offers them. Sakal Media Group’s movement attracted many well-known persons working for society and engaged the youth in various initiatives. These persons have become a source of inspiration for the young participants of YIN. These inspirators have enriched the youth during the last year.

Actor Aamir Khan and thinker Sandeep Vaslekar were among those present during the launch of YIN. Within the year, senior activist Anna Hazare, environmentalist Popatrao Pawar, poet Manoj Borgaonkar, social activist Rajashree Patil, actor Nandu Madhav and many others have further strengthened the movement across the State. Many have come forward to lend a hand towards the growth of the youth.
Cities and villages alike saw discussions revolving around YIN as a platform for all-round development of the youth.
Several experiments were conducted during the last one year. Many of these initiatives undertaken by YIN became life-long learnings for the youth. ‘Chala Gava Kadhe’, ‘Amhi Ghadu Deshasathi’, ‘Awaz Parivartanacha’, ‘Vha Bindastha’, ‘YIN Samvad’, ‘Amhi Bolnar Khasdar Aamdaranshi’ and ‘Majha Career, Majha Swpna’ have enabled the youth to develop themselves. Through these initiatives, we could see that the youth, could solve their own problems, society’s problems and also question the elected representatives if required.
YIN members across Maharashtra implemented more than 400 projects during the last one year. Through the initiative ‘Chala Gavakade’ the youth are working in 15 villages for development. The change that this project has brought in the villages and among the youth asserts the importance of initiatives like YIN. The YIN members have transformed villages with these pilot projects. The ‘One House, One Tree’ project implemented by YIN members in Patnoor, Marathwada, has now become a benchmark.
We aim to take YIN to every college and connect every youth in the State to this movement. A weekly magazine named ‘YIN’ would be published from December onwards. This would help to connect the youth from the farthest corners of the State to YIN. Those who have derived inspiration from YIN will be writing for the magazine.
There are many questions in the minds of the youth. If they find answers to these questions, it may lead to positive changes, which would benefit the whole State. Therefore, Sakal Media Group will provide a platform to the youth to ask questions and present their ideas through Sakal, Sakal Times, Saam television channel, esakal.com and sakaaltimes.com.
Through YIN, a strong network and youth pressure groups will be set up in every corner of the State. These youth will voice the aspirations of younger generations, so that the policy makers and administrators know that youth have a say in everything. YIN members will elect leaders from colleges, districts and divisions. The process of elections will be declared soon.
Through YIN, the youth of the State are standing up for social welfare without being a part of any political party. During next year, the movement will reach every college in the State. YIN will inspire the youth to achieve their goals. We appeal to youngsters to be a part of this movement.
