MNGL and SSF kick off road safety campaign
Pune: Maharashtra Natural Gas Ltd (MNGL) has kicked off a road safety campaign in association with Sakal Social Foundation (SSF) on Monday as a part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity. A group of college volunteers from Young Inspirators Network (YIN) and Vidyarthi Sahayak Samiti, MGNL employees and representatives from SSF carried out this campaign. As a part of the drive, the participants displayed various banners and distributed pamphlets about road safety at prime locations on Fergusson College (FC) Road.
As a token of appreciation, the participants greeted with roses all the road users who followed traffic rules. The campaign will be conducted at various cross roads in Bibvewadi, Sahakar Nagar and Kothrud till March 12. Similarly, Pimpri, Nigdi, Pimple Gurav and Hinjewadi in Pimpri Chinchwad are also covered in the drive.
“We believe in safety in and off the workplace. We often see people protecting their skin but not their life. With this campaign, we want to promote road safety by making people aware about the precautions, specially importance of using helmet, to be taken while driving,” said Preety Gupta, CSR head of MNGL.
The campaign was inaugurated in the presence of Senior Traffic Police Inspector Sunil Shelke. MNGL Chief Finance Manager Mayuresh Ganu, Senior Marketing Manager Amol Hatti, Deputy General Manager Sujit Ruikar and Assistant Manager Rajeshwar Verma were present at the event along with Rakesh Malhotra, General Manager (Head – Pune Unit) of with Sakal Media Group and Uddhav Bhadsadkar of Sakal Social Foundation.
A similar event was also inaugurated at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Chowk in Pimpri.
