Satara students to help underprivileged children
In spite of various initiatives for education for all, many children from rural areas are yet to attend school. Some of them beg at railway stations, traffic signals and on temple premises. Others work to earn their livelihood. YIN members of the Yashwantrao Chavan School of Social Work are working hard to change this scenario, so that these children can attend school.
ACTION PLAN
The YIN members of the Yashwantrao Chavan School of Social Work have decided to talk to parents of street children and convince them to send their children to school. Two students will coordinate with one such child and parents. These students will also get a review of his or her development. These students will also work to develop the skills of these children to bring out their hidden talents. Students will also sponsor breakfast for these students once a month.

Apart from educating underprivileged children, personality development courses will be arranged for them. We will provide education from first standard to graduation, free of cost. There are few underprivileged students in our institute, who are talented and have got awards worth Rs 14 lakh. Their examples are highlighted when we talk to parents of underprivileged students.

Many students are deprived of basic needs such as food, clothing and shelter. We will ensure that such children get basic education. Shardashram School and Jakatwadi are lending a helping hand for this mission. We will bring out the hidden talent of these children with the help of the Loknrutyakala Vidyalaya, Kolhapur. We are getting vocational training guidance from institutes in Pune and sports training inputs from Solapur. These students will also get other facilities such as medical services, hostel accommodation and free meals. The YIN members will get help from our college to achieve this goal.

We, the YIN members along with ShardashramSchool, are trying to bring underprivileged children to the mainstream of education. We are contacting children begging on bus stands, streets, etc. and taking feedback about their parents. Under the guidance of the Delivering Change Foundation (DCF), Sharadashram and the police, we will successfully go ahead and work as per our plan.

Our aim is to educate underprivileged students through YIN. We are going to give them their right to education. Begging is ruining the future of these children. We have to save them. Education is an important tool to empower them.
