Pune: The counting of votes of the Leadership Development Programme (LDP) elections of Young Inspirators Network (YIN) for 70 colleges was done with huge enthusiasm among students on Sunday.
The students voted for their favourite candidate in various colleges on Friday and Saturday in Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad and Pune rural.
Around 300 students from various colleges were present along with YIN head Tejas Gujarati. The counting of votes was held at Sakal International learning Centre (SILC) on Sunday. One representative from 70 colleges was elected. The elected candidates were awarded certificates.
Many election officers helped in the smooth implementation of the election process over the last few days.
Speaking to Sakal Times, Election Officer Nitin Kolekar said that the experience was good.
“I had a great time while counting the votes. It was nice to be a part of this entire programme. Next year I am going to contest as well. So this opportunity has helped me to be a part of this programme from the other side,” said Kolekar.
Another election officer, Neha Shirude said that the experience was overwhelming.
“Since these elections are not from any political party, students had a lot of fun while voting. The enthusiasm and fervour are evident as a lot of them have turned up here for the counting. The experience overall was great. I would like to be a part of this next year as well,” added Shirude.
