Do… What You Want to Do!
Mumbai
“My origin is in Indore… I came to Mumbai via Delhi and was looking for work. It was an unachievable dream for me to come to Mumbai and write for bollywood. Then, I penned my own story ‘Bawara man dekhane chala eak sapana…’ I composed this song for myself and it touched millions of hearts. Now it’s been eleven years and still the song is young.”
The well known lyricist of bollywood Swanand Kirkire was narrating his life story filled with its ups and downs to the youngsters at the ‘Dream Catchers’, an interactive programme organised by Young Inspirators Network at Ramnarayan Ruiya Collage, in North Central Mumbai.
Editor-in-charge Niranjan Prakash interviewed him and singer Dr Neha Rajpal.
Students were amazed to hear his life journey while he gave a simple mantra for success, “Don’t do anything which you don’t want to do.”
He said, “People struggle a lot to get the opportunity to sing as a play back singer. I always thought that I can’t sing but at the age of 32, I came to know that I can sing and then suddenly I got four to five offers back to back. Opportunities don’t come knocking the door every day. But if your goals in life are fixed then you have to always set yourself in action and identify the moment to hit at,” he added.
